I tried the addon. I didn’t try to dig in too deeply, but it is definitely using an online Text to Speech service. The mycroft-core does support doing the same thing, but I doubt if that author actually wrote the TTS. Not knocking his work, it is a handy tool. But not the same as creating a TTS engine.
