Will the Mark 1 software be maintained after the release of the Mark 2?
Will the upgrades of the mycroft-core package be still compatible with that hardware?

Yes, we totally plan on keeping Mycroft compatible with the Mark 1. In particular, we have a mycroft-mark-1 package that will store only parts related to the mark-1. The main mycroft-core package will upgrade just like normal.
