One-word results for questions of "Who is...?"

I’ve been asking Mycroft questions about actors and other famous people, sometimes I get useful results, sometimes I get one word that is not clear due to the slightly-fuzzy Mycroft voice, or the word Actor, which, while accurate, is a bit lacking in detail.

What follows is a list of names I’ve gotten sparse answers to. This is not exhaustive, just what I came up with while posting this issue.

Then just to really push him, I asked Mycroft about Lily Hevesh, and got a listing for the flower instead of the domino artist. (Smaller scale fame on that last, I’ll admit.)

I could go on, but I think I’ve rather over-done it as it is.

So that I can replicate, can you please tell me:

  • What specific phrase you were using
  • Whether the Utterance was correctly identified as the actor’s name (ie I’m guessing for Lily Hevesh it wasn’t)

I’m guessing we may have an Intent conflict here which is why the phrase is important.

The phrase in each case was “Hey Mycroft, who is …” then the name. In each case, apart from Lily Hevesh, the response sounded like the word I listed, so I don’t know what Mycroft thought I said. If there is a way I can find that out, I haven’t found/figured it out yet. When I get back useful amounts of information, it does lead with the persons name, as in “Christine ‘Moose’ McGlade is a digital media executive…” when asked about the original host of “You Can’t Do That On Television”. The nickname ‘Moose’ was not part of the question and was returned in the results. As for Ms. Hevesh, I was curious how an Internet personality (she is a domino artist who posts videos to YouTube) would show up.

So I’ve replicated this and am getting exactly the same behaviour for all the names you’ve listed.

To start diagnosing what’s wrong here, I tailed the mycroft-skills.log - here’s an excerpt:

I suspect the WolframAlpha Skill is either not returning the correct information, or the information that’s returned is not being handled correctly.

I’ve looked abit on it now and it seems like there’s a bug in the wolframalpha skill limiting the result of these queries to 5 characters (actor).

I’m checking why this was done, it might be to handle a specific type of question (but I’ve not been able to find something specific…

Will dig more.
