[SOLVED] No sound with TTS , errors

Hi,
My mycroft installation stopped outputting TTS audio. The wakeword recognition sound works, so it must be playing the wav files ok. I have three of the units running on pi3b’s. All of them stopped working around the same time.

I have some log entries that may be useful for troubleshooting but I have not been able to get the audio. mycroft-cli-client shows the output in the history window but no audio from the speaker. I am using the headphone out on the pi’s. The PS3 Eye mic’s are working well. The picroft image is raspbian_Picroft_2018-03-14.img.

Changed TTS engine to mimic (was google), tts now works…

must be an issue with the google tts engine in mycroft…

Elsewhere it was mentioned there’s been a change to how google tts works, and a fix is incoming soon.

Yes, this issue was caused by a version change in gTTS. The new mycroft-core version, 18.8.2, which dropped overnight, fixes this issue. So your Picroft devices should pick them up automatically, or reboot them to force a check for updates.
