Voice Output Cuts Off

For a while now, after giving Mycroft a command, he would acknowledge it, but it would cut off at the end (e.g. “Please rephrase your requ—” or “The volume is set to—”). I have tried rebooting to no avail. I also thought updating would help, but even after updating to v20.2.0, I’m still experencing the issue.

I’m running Picroft on a Raspberry Pi 3B.

I appreciate any ideas anyone would have!

Sounds similar to this old topic: Picroft aborts speeking since 19.02 update

Commenting out the line
load-module module-suspend-on-idle

in /etc/pulse/default.pa

may be worth a try.

It would also be interesting to know what audio setup you have.

Thank you for your suggestion, but even after commenting out

I still have responses cut off. I am using a generic powered speaker hooked up to the 3.5mm jack. For the microphone, I’m using a PSEye Camera.

One thing I did mess with was typing in something for Mycroft to say back to me (a long sentence) and he read back the complete sentence.

That is weird then as that would seem to point to maybe skills than TTS and audio.

Can you try that a couple of times alternating between the 2.

If it always reads out in full what you wrote and doesn’t finish a skill then its skil based not TTS and audio.

Is it all skills or just a few or 1?

PS hopefully you already had a Pi3 as the Raspberry prices are sort of crazy at the moment as the 4B 2gb is the same price.
