I just wanted to be able to launch apps with voice commands. I wouldn’t have installed if I knew it meant losing PhotoShop and my other Windows software.

I’m very sorry to hear that happened, this is not an intentional process, and we definitely don’t want to be causing unintended package changes on a system.
After a search, I saw that there was another user who has had this happen (before I joined Mycroft). In that instance it seemed to be a conflict between the libjack0 and lib-jack-2-0 packages caused by the installation of portaudio19-dev.
So that we can recreate the circumstances can I ask what distribution you are using?
